Pinterest Pin X-Ray

Pin X-Ray puts the numbers Pinterest hides — saves, age, AI origin, destination link — straight onto every pin in the feed.

Your first run

  1. Open a Pinterest feed, a search or a board.
  2. Click the toolbar icon and press Scan visible pins — or just hover a pin. Each lookup loads that pin's page once and caches it for a day.
  3. Read the badges: saves tinted by saves per month (green is strong, amber solid), the pin's age, an AI flag where Pinterest says the image is AI generated, and no link for an Idea Pin that drives no traffic.

Settings live in the popup

Open the popup and expand Options: Reveal on hover, Show scan button on page and Auto-scan while scrolling. There is also Clear badges and Clear cache.

Auto-scan loads one page per pin as you scroll. Excellent for a deep dive on one board, heavy on a long feed.

Keywords from autocomplete

Type a seed like pinterest marketing t in Pinterest's own search box and let the dropdown appear. Leave it open, click the toolbar icon and press Capture suggestions — every keyword suggestion on screen goes into your list (people and boards are skipped). Type the next seed, capture again, repeat. Copy puts the whole list on the clipboard, one keyword per line.

Switch on Collect every suggestion while I type and every suggestion Pinterest shows you is stored automatically — no button needed. Nothing is fetched for this; it reads the dropdown that is already on screen.

Analysis and export free key

Enter your first name and email in the popup and click Unlock export — it costs an email, not money. That adds Analyse visible pins, Export visible pins (CSV) and Export boards of this profile (CSV). Already have a key? Open I already have a license key and Activate.

The CSV is UTF-8 with a BOM so umlauts and emoji survive Excel, and values starting with =, +, - or @ are escaped so a pin title cannot be read as a formula.

Where it works

On Pinterest feeds, searches, boards and profiles, across the country domains (.com, .de, .co.uk and the rest). It makes no AI calls and needs no API key.

What it does not do

  • It reads what a pin's own page shows. There is no Pinterest API key and no private analytics behind it.
  • Saves stay plain until a pin is two weeks old — a rate per month means nothing on a three-day-old pin.
  • Profile pages sometimes never finish rendering on Pinterest's side. If a profile stays blank, that is the site, not the extension — reload or work from a board instead.
  • It only sees pins that are actually on screen. Scroll to cover more.
  • It cannot ask Pinterest for autocomplete suggestions — that endpoint is closed to anything but Pinterest's own app. It reads the dropdown you trigger by typing, nothing more.
