How To Use It For Pinterest Research
Four features, one goal: find out what already works in your niche before you create a single pin.
1. Scan visible pins
Click "Scan visible pins". Each pin gets its age, save count and destination URL, plus a flag if Pinterest has marked the image as AI-generated (a helpful indicator, not 100% accurate).
2. Auto-scan while scrolling
Enable auto-scan in the extension options. New pins are scanned automatically as they load while you scroll through search results.
3. Export to CSV
Export the pins you've scanned, or all boards from your home feed or any profile. You get pin ID, URL, title, description, creation date, saves per month, comments, reactions and hashtags.
4. Capture search suggestions
Type a keyword into Pinterest search, open the extension and click "Capture suggestions". Repeat for more keywords, then copy or download the whole list, or let it collect every suggestion automatically as you type.
Turn Those Keywords Into Dozens Of Pins With PinDominator
Pin X-Ray finds the keywords. PinDominator turns each one into ready-to-post Pinterest pins, with image prompts, SEO titles and descriptions generated for you, then sends them to your scheduler (Zernio or Buffer) or exports them for bulk upload.
Pin X-Ray FAQ
Is Pin X-Ray really free?
Yes. The download is free. Scanning works right away; to use the CSV export and download features you create a free account inside the extension.
What data does Pin X-Ray show?
Pin age, number of saves and destination URL on every scanned pin, plus Pinterest's AI-generated flag where it can be detected. CSV exports include pin ID, URL, title, description, creation date, saves per month, comments, reactions and hashtags.
Is the AI-image detection 100% accurate?
No. It's a helpful indicator based on what Pinterest exposes, and it should improve over time. Don't treat it as a guarantee.
Which browsers does it work in?
Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers that let you load unpacked extensions, such as Brave and Edge.
Why isn't it in the Chrome Web Store?
It's delivered directly as a ZIP so you get updates from the source. Installing an unpacked extension is a standard Chrome feature. Just follow the five steps above.
